Phase 1: SusBDe LOC Nagpur Project for Processing Municipal Solid Waste at Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), India
We are proud to share that the first phase of our Waste to Energy project in Nagpur has been successfully completed. Together with the dedicated team at SusBDe—represented by Jaap Veenenbos, Bert Jägel, and Vrinda Thakur—and our promoter/investor Kedar Vaze, we have laid the foundation for a sustainable waste management solution in India. This journey, which began in 2019, was made possible with the support of the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Mumbai, led by then-Consul General Bart de Jong, and close collaboration with our technology partner WTT, The Netherlands.
What have we achieved in Phase 1?
The introduction of our container-based Dry Fermentation Mobile Unit—an innovative, transportable biogas installation and the first of its kind worldwide. This mobile unit serves as a proof-of-concept, demonstrating that we can produce significantly more biogas than initially expected. This success is the result of teamwork, driven innovation, and the visionary commitment of our promoter/investor KEVA Group, led by Managing Director Kedar Vaze.
What’s next?
Building on the positive results of this mobile plant, we are now progressing to Phase 2: constructing a full-scale biogas plant based on the same technology, capable of processing 1,200 MT of household waste. This plant will supply biogas to the city of Nagpur, marking a major step forward in sustainable waste management in India.
Building the Future Together
Our collaboration with promoter Kedar Vaze and KEVA SusBDe Biotech Pvt Ltd opens up new opportunities to further invest in innovative solutions for waste processing and bioenergy production across India. This strategic partnership underscores our shared commitment to sustainability and innovation, with the goal of creating a cleaner future for cities across the country.
This milestone is the result of collaboration between several key partners, including:
